Q: Dead Microphone
I have had my 42mm Space Gray Apple Watch Sport since October 2015, and it has been great. Despite some necessary re-parings in early 2016, the device has been a total delight.
However, tonight, my microphone has ceased operation. It no longer acknowledges any sound input whatsoever. To further confirm that the microphone has completely failed, when attempting to use Siri functionality and tapping the screen to end input, the visualizer for Siri no longer becomes a horizontally-sliding color-shifting bar, but just disappears completely as Siri's "What can I help you with?" message hangs indefinitely until keeping the display off, or pressing the digital crown or side button.
Powering off/on and un-pairing/re-pairing has not restored function, nor has charging the device.
The device overall still works, but anything using the microphone now fails or hangs indefinitely.
I have this Apple Watch Sport enrolled in AppleCare+. I'm posting this to ask if there is anything that can be done before I bring this one over to an Apple Store to exchange it for a new unit.
