Q: Sync Problem

I plug in my Iphone 5c into the laptop using a Itunes and the proper cord. It does not come up under device even though i have used other cords and my laptop picks up i pluged a device in. How do I get Itunes to see my phone so i can sync. I want to do this before starting my new iphone 6s
