When using FaceTime all we get is connecting message but never connects. It's a new Mac book and we can FT via our phones.

When using a New MacBook and trying to FaceTime all we get is a "Connecting" message, but doesn't connect. We are able to connect via our iPhones but not the MacBook. What are we missing? We have a WiFi connection. Not sure if there is something in settings we are missing. Thanks in advance.

MacBook, iOS 9.3.4

Hi dwbrieske,

Thanks for posting here in the Apple Support Communities! I understand you're having trouble using FaceTime and you're only seeing 'connecting' on screen when trying to make a FaceTime call. I use FaceTime to keep in touch with distant family members so I can understand wanting to make sure you're able to get your FaceTime up and running properly. I'm happy to offer some guidance here!

I recommend to take a look over everything in the article below. After making sure your Mac meets the minimum system requirements, you'll want to make sure it's activated by following the section 'Activating FaceTime for Mac'. Once it's activated, if you're still having trouble, take a look over the 'Troubleshooting FaceTime for Mac' section for some helpful steps.

Cheers!
