Q: Mac Air drains to nearly zero overnight when laptop is shut.
The last few mornings I've been waking up to an empty battery and I haven't been able to find a reason why. For example the last night I shut it at 33% and earlier this morning it was at 2%. My laptop used to maybe use one/zero percent overnight so I don't know what it is.
The laptop doesn't have a case and is shutting completely. While shut it is either not sleeping or something is waking it. I've looked at the activity monitor and nothing is taking up too much energy (but something could be staying on while it is supposed to be sleeping, but I don't know if there is a way to check that).
I'm gonna leave it open tonight and just push sleep from the apple menu tonight and see how that works. Even if that works I would like to be able to just shut it though since it's supposed to be able to do that.
Also I recently downloaded skype and it's plugin, that's the only change i've made in the time period this problem started, that may have something to do with it.
