IMessage has been getting stuck while Sending.

iMessage keeps getting stuck while Sending. What's the problem, and is it being worked on? Must go back into Messages list, press-select iMessage as though copying bubble, and then select from pop-up menu Send As Text. Bar at top of screen then goes all the way across and Sends out. Green instead of blue bubble.

Other end has been deceptive: iMessages sometimes read as Delivered on other phones when they have not been delivered.

Hello Lxx Bxx,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

Based on your post, I see that iMessage keeps getting stuck while sending. You have to go back into the Messages list, select and copy the iMessage, and then send as a text. The messages are being sent out with a green text message bubble instead of a blue iMessage bubble, and when iMessages are sent, sometimes it says delivered when the recipient hasn't received the message.

I completely understand. I use the Messages app on my iPhone a lot. So, I can appreciate wanting to get this taken care of as quickly as possible.

iMessages (blue bubble), can only send and receive messages with your Apple ID to other Apple devices using iMessage. If the recipient isn't using an Apple device, or they are not signed into iMessage with their Apple ID on their Apple device, it will always send out as a text message (green bubble). The following article will help:

Use Messages with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

I would recommend giving your iPhone a fresh restart first, and then testing this at different physical locations and different Wi-Fi/Cellular connections to see if you get the same result.

If you still have an issue after that, please use If you can‘t send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, specifically, this section:

Try these steps first

  1. Make sure that your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is updated to the latest version of iOS.
  2. If you have an iPhone or iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular), check for a carrier settings update.
  3. Check your network connection. To send a message as iMessage or MMS, you need a cellular data or Wi-Ficonnection. To send an SMS message, you need to have a cellular network connection. If you have Wi-Fi Calling turned on, you can send SMS messages over Wi-Fi. Contact your carrier for more information.
  4. Check with your carrier to see if the type of message you’re trying to send, like MMS or SMS, is supported.
  5. If you’re trying to send group MMS messages on an iPhone, turn on MMS Messaging. If you don't see an option to turn on MMS Messaging or Group Messaging on your iPhone, contact your carrier.
  6. Make sure that you entered the correct phone number or email address for the recipient.

If you still need help, find your issue below to see what to do next.

Best Regards.
