Horizontal flickering line on lock screen?

I recently purchased an iPhone SE and have so far been very happy with it. However, when removing notifications on the lock screen a horizontal line is flickering on the upper screen that I suppose shouldn't be there. Could this be a hardware problem or a software? I just upgraded to the latest iOS version. I'd be very thankful for some answers!

Hello j.ericsson,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

Congratulations on your new iPhone! Getting a new iPhone is very exciting. I'm sorry to hear though, that after you remove notifications on the lock screen, you see a horizontal line flickering on the upper part of the screen. That's definitely something that I wouldn't want to have happening. I'm happy to help assist you in finding the best resolution.

First, please make sure that all apps are updated to the latest versions in the App Store app on your iPhone. Then, test this again to see if you get the same horizontal line flickering on the upper part of the screen.

If you still have an issue after that, please close all apps on your iPhone, restart your iPhone, and then test again to see if you get the same flickering. The following articles will help:

Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Have an amazing day!
