Q: Warn when data on this computer will be changed not working

Since quite a while (several month) I have the problem that I cannot two-way sync mit iPhone with iTunes with Outlook. I had the problem with Windows 7 and I have it also with Windows 10 Pro.

This weekend I invested quite some time to analyze and the problem is the following:

In iTunes, I select for my iPhone under Preferences - Warn when data on this computer will be changed - "Any", so I will always see, how many entries are changed on my computer, and this worked as expected for a long time. But now, there is now UI shown, but i see the following log entries in the log:

As soon as I deactivate the option or if there are no changes on the phone but only in outlook, it works as expected. As soon as there are changes, the backup and the synchronization is canceled.

And yes, there is realy no SyncUIHander where Mingler.exe is looking.

'C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\SyncUIHandler.exe' it is not, but under

'C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\SyncUIHandler.exe'

Anybody knows how to fix it? I already uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes several Times. I also used quite some versions over the time... I didn't work with iTunes 11 and also with some iTunes 12, now I am on the current version and it still does not work.

I am using a German Version of Windows and iTunes. Does it work for anybody else? (Either englisch or german version)

Regards,

Roger

I too am experiencing what seems to be a similar problem.  iPhone 5s, Windows 10 Pro laptop and just updated to 12.5.1 64 bit iTunes.  ALWAYS had "warn if any data on this computer will be changed" and it worked find until now.  It seems that if this selection is checked, if I modify or create (for example) a contact which is synced with Outlook 2013, when iTunes is syncing Contacts, there is a "flash" of the iTunes window, syncing continues and ends apparently normal.  I then check Outlook contacts on my laptop to see the changes made on the iPhone are not in Outlook.  Return to iTunes and unselect the "warn if any data...." preference, re-sync and the updates/changes made on the phone now appear in Outlook.

There is an obvious problem with "Warn if xxx data on this computer will be changed".  Tested and proven.  For now, leaving it unchecked.  Want to have it checked because sometimes there is an "oops" on the phone where a calendar event is created in error or something is done by accident.  Want to be able to catch these and know that something will be changed on computer.
