Q: Iphone & Macbook syncing on ITunes

I recently purchased a Macbook Air and have plugged my iphone 6s into it several times already. It seems that any music I have bought from my iphone since purchasing the laptop has not synced with my music library on the laptop. I received the error message of not being authorized on this computer so I have many times de-authorized and reauthorized in the hopes that the music would begin to sync but it didn't. I then tried deleting the songs that were not syncing from my music on my phone and then repurchasing them. When I plugged the phone back in the few songs that I had deleted to test this theory did in fact sync to the library on my laptop however after I continued to use this method it stopped working. In fact, when I would go to the iTunes store from my phone to repurchase the music it wouldn't let me because it said it was already purchased even though I had just deleted it. Basically, I just deleted music from my library on my phone and the store wouldn't let me buy it again because it said it was still in my library. I tried to purchase the music I had just deleted off of the store using my laptop but then it made me repurchase them instead of saying I had already bought these songs and asking if I wanted to re-download them. So currently, I have music on my iphone 6s that I just deleted and re-bought from the phone but still won't sync to the macbook, I have music that I know I have already purchased and momentarily deleted that the store won't let me re-download because it doesn't think I just deleted it, and I also have duplicates of several of these songs on the macbook from having to re-buy them when I used the store from the computer. I am desperate for answers, please help!

Well, not certain about all of what you are describing, but is it possible that you are using two different Apple IDs? Once you purchase media from iTunes, then you cannot "re-purchase" it.

In iTunes, make sure the Apple ID you purchased the media with is signed in and authorized, and then in the iTunes Store view, select Purchased under the Quick Links section on the right-hand side of the screen.

Then click on Songs or Albums, and "Not in My Library". The list of music you will see are all of your visible purchases that can be downloaded to your Mac from iTunes in the Cloud. That is how you get any purchased music into your iTunes Music Library on your Mac, if you have not purchased it directly on the Mac itself.

If some of the songs you expect to see are missing, then click on the link below to see if any of your purchases have been hidden: Hide and unhide iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store purchases - Apple Support

    Cheers,
