my friend wants to set up collections on his mac to upload to his iPhone. but when he trys to upload the Photos Library is greyed out

My friend has a newer iMac running ElCapitan.

He has an iPhone 6 and wants to create collections in Photos on his mac and upload them to his iPhone.

When he tries through iTunes the Photos Library is greyed out.


Suggestions?

I understand you are looking for some help with syncing photos from an iMac to an iPhone, but not seeing the options for it in iTunes. I know it's nice to have your photos up to date on all of your devices, so I'm happy to provide some direction to help with this.


From what you've described, your friend may want to consider using iCloud Photo Library, which will allow the photos to stay up to date on all of the devices that have it enabled. You can read more about that service here:
