itunes Music is stuck on artist view

My itunes Music is stuck on artist view and I am unable to change it to view by genre, album, song, etc. Even when I click to 'sort album by', nothing happens. Suggestions please.

Mac OS X (10.5)

Regardless of what I change the 'sort albums by' - it stays the same.

From view menu select show sidebar.
