Q: Unfortunately, the app stopped etc etc

I just downloaded the Apple Music app on my Android Device.  It gets stuck on the screen with the lady and the headphones.  It does not move from there.  Trying the airplane mode trick work but, then the app crashes saying unfortunately it stopped when i click on anything on the music app.  I had to go to iTunes just to start my free trial because the app is so terrible.

    Hello CliveVLewis,

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

I see that your Apple Music app is getting stuck when opening. That's something I certainly wouldn't want to have happening. I want to help you listen to Apple Music on your Android device.

Use the article Get help with Apple Music on Android, specifically, these sections:

    Restart the app

Most issues resolve if you quit Apple Music and then reopen it.

To make sure that the app is completely closed and all background processes are stopped before you reopen it, follow these steps:

    1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Scroll down to Applications and tap "Application manager."
    4. Tap Apple Music.
    5. Tap Force Stop. If you see a message that says "If you force stop an app, it may cause errors," tap OK.
    6. Return to the Home screen or your application list, and reopen Apple Music.

If the issues persist, clear the app cache.

    Clear the app cache

    1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Scroll down to Applications and tap "Application manager."
    4. Tap Apple Music.
    5. Tap Clear Cache.
    6. Return to the Home screen or your application list, and reopen Apple Music.

If the issues persist, restart your phone.

    Restart your phone

Turn your phone off for 30 seconds, then turn it back on.

If the issues persist, sign out of Apple Music and then sign back in.

Sign out of Apple Music and then sign back in

    1. Open Apple Music.
    2. Tap the menu icon   in the upper-left corner.
    3. Tap your name at the top of the menu to get to your account settings.
    4. Tap Sign Out.
    5. Tap "Already a member" and sign back in.

When you sign out and then sign back in, you must re-download all of the music that you want to listen to offline.

If the issues persist, contact Apple Support.
