1. Restart your phone
2. Check that the app is actually not there, instead of just judging off of the button.
3. Check the compatibility. As the iPhone 5 is very old, it may not be compatible.

We tried to install the app again, and it showed up for a little bit on the home screen and said "waiting", and then it just disappeared.

To do this, tap ten times quickly on any one of the items at the bottom (Featured, Top Charts, Explore, Search, or Updates). The App Store will turn white for a second or so and then display normally again.

Settings > General > Restrictions > Installing Apps> here should be On.
Also In Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID: > View Apple ID > is your credit card info correct?

Sep 10, 2016 7:35 AM in response to intune116by DefineMatty,Hi, intune116, I had this problem too! What I did to fix this issue was, I restored all my internet connections..
You can do this by doing:
General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings -> and then follow the instructions from there, then re-connect to your Wifi and try downloading the app you want again..
If this doesn't work let me know
