Q: no service on iphone 6, iOS 9.3.4, 16GB

my sim card is not recognised on my iphone 6 anymore. when i insert it, it's searching and then it shows ''no service''. i changed my sim and still doesn't work. i mention that the sim is ok, it works in my iphone 4. i have no idea what the problem could be. i went at a service which is specialised on apple's products, but they weren't sure either. they said that they can fix something, but that could turn out not to be the problem.

    Hi there, jusstina!

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. I can see that you have a SIM card working in another iPhone that's not connecting to your cellular network on your iPhone 6 on iOS 9.3.4. I'll certainly be glad to help!

If you can‘t connect to a cellular network or cellular data -- This article was written with just this issue in mind. Follow the steps provided.

    Have a good day!

    HI There corrie84,

have the same issue and tried all of the methods provided by your link including a factory restore without any luck. I've also contacted my carrier and they are stumped. This is a software issue and my iPhone seems to be completely bricked. Do I wait Until the next update? Or is my only option to bring my phone into a Genius Bar? My warranty us up so I much rather not do this. Thanks!

    Hi All,

I am coming with the solution ..

I have an iPhone 6 64GB and after upgrading to IOS 9.3.4 the device couldn't connect to cellular anymore. On the status bar it kept showing "Searching" and sometimes shows "No Service". I also noticed that tapping the word Carrier under Settings>General>About was showing PRL 1

Anyway, I googled and searched everywhere and tried many solutions including the drop your phone solution, that many claim it had helped them, but it did not resolve my device problem. I was frustrated with this problem for a couple of weeks I even opened the phone and took apart all parts to find out if anything is wrong! Then reassembled it again but nothing has changed! Still Searching for network. I found many many many solutions posted online, so I did a backup for my iPhone through iTunes and tried the following:

    - Restart the phone

    - Turn Airplane mode ON, turn off device, remove SIM, Insert SIM, Start device

    - Turn off Cellular data, Turn Airplane mode ON,turn off device, remove SIM, Insert SIM, Start device, Cellular data ON,      Airplane mode ON

    - Reset Network Settings

    - Reset All Settings

    - Erase All Content and Settings

    - Restore iPhone through iTunes

    - Restore iPhone through DFU mode

    - Setup as new iPhone

    - Hard reset the phone (hold home button and sleep/wake-up buttons till phone restarts)

    - upgraded to IOS 10 beta,

    - downgraded to IOS 9.3.2

    - upgraded to IOS 9.3.4

That's all I remember, I cant write all what I have tried during the two weeks trials

Some of the above resolved the issue TEMPORARILY, the device was working for couple of days sometimes couple of hours then it was going back to the Searching/No Service problem again.

Finally, the steps to resolve this problem permanently:

    1. Hold both (Home + Sleep/Wake-up) Buttons till the phone restarts and shows the Apple logo, KEEP HOLDING both buttons until the phone completely turns OFF.
    2. Wait for a minute
    3. turn your phone back ON

It sounds very silly solution, BUT it WORKS

I've got the same problem! I've tried all the recommendations on that link and my phone is still not working.  I've also done the suggestion below.  Is APPLE going to show how to fix this - I only started having problems since the update!!!

So after doing everything I could without resorting to wiping my phone and starting afresh, I lodged with Apple to "save time on the phone" as they advertised.  Then when I rang on a landline they couldn't find anything, no Case ID, couldn't even find my phone on their system.  What a joke.  I've had to wipe my phone - still came up with NO SERVICE - and in the process of restoring it again, this time a message came up saying there was an update to my carrier services.  It asked if I wanted to download and install it and I clicked yes.  In next to no time the restore started so I don't know if it installed or not, am still waiting on the restore process to finish.  Fingers crossed.

    HI Guys,

I tried this and it brought back the signal on my iPhone 6, I don't know for how long it's going to last

please try the steps and let us know if works also for you:

    1. Remove SIM card and SIM tray. Keep uplugged.

    2. Hold both (Home + Sleep/Wake-up) Buttons till the phone restarts and shows the Apple logo, KEEP HOLDING both buttons until the phone completely turns OFF.

    3. Wait for a minute

    4. Turn your iPhone back ON

    5. Unlock your device (enter passcode)

    6. Plug SIM tray and SIM card.

    Regards,
