Q: Pair Apple Watch with Macbook Air

I just purchased an Apple Watch and I am concerned that it does not perform a function that I hoped it could.

Basically here is my dilemma-

I would like to use the watch as a remote for Keynote presentations in my classroom.

I do not have a bluetooth projector, so I need to project the presentation though my laptop or iMac.

Can I connect the watch to my laptop? I have a brand new MacBook Air.

Are there any ideas you have to help me solve this problem?? I might have to return the watch if it does not allow me to control my presentations, as that was a huge selling point for me.

Thanks!

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

    Hi

Information about how Apple Watch can be used to control Keynote presentations - along with instructions for doing so - is available here:

It can control Keynote presentations but only if they're on your iPhone.

To clarify: I'm afraid this is incorrect.

The support article linked in my previous reply explains the available options. They include using the watch (via the iPhone) to control a presentation that is on and open in Keynote on a Mac.
