Q: Garageband 10.1.2 Glitching?
I have the latest Macbook Pro 13" retina display, and I just very recently started experiencing some glitching problems with the latest Garageband. At first I thought it was how I had my audio setup because I was experiencing latency with 2-second time gaps. However, I set it up correctly (using a USB midi interface) as I have always done to record, and after reseting some things (pulling cables out, plugging them back in, quitting Garageband, pulling it back up, etc.) I got the latency to go away. However, after about 30 seconds of me playing on my midi keyboard with no latency, eventually the sounds I am controlling in Garageband start to crackle and it becomes more distorted and quiet with each time I press a key; eventually the sound cuts out all together. So I thought I fixed the problem but apparently it's Garageband, because I recorded a small drum beat (within that 30 seconds of me starting the program up) and looped it quickly, then exported it to my computer to see if it would play back properly as an exported file outside of Garageband. I pulled it up in my iTunes and at first the track doesn't make a sound at all, then halfway through it starts making extremely robotic, distorted sound effects. So the audio didn't even work after exporting it from Garageband, even though I recorded it within that quick, no-glitch time span and it sounded fine. Does this make sense?
I am a new Mac owner and new to Garageband, but I have already successfully recorded a few songs in Garageband. Is there something I am missing? Would this be an update issue in Garageband that I am just now running into? Or is this an issue with my Macbook that could be caused by a storage issue on my computer?
