Do you currently have a 6 digit passcode and you want to use 4 instead? If so, on your iPhone go into Settings - Touch ID & Passcode - enter your current passcode - Change Passcode - enter your current passcode - tap Passcode Options - select 4-Digit Numeric Code
I don't have the keychain option in my settings and icloud keeps insisting on a 4 digit code for me to proceed any further.
Yes - my iphone. I'd like to be able to activate the 'find my phone' feature but am not able to do this because icloud insists on a 4 digit passcode after I have typed in my ID and password.
Have you tried tapping Forgot code?
I have the option to tap 'forgot password' but am not given that option to retrieve the mysterious 4 digit code.
Do you see this screen as shown in the Apple support article above?
I get that screen Eric but not the 'forgot code' bit.
I was on the phone yesterday for a couple hours with one of the Apple support team - went through everything but could find no way to get into my icloud account. He's calling back after consulting with some of his colleagues during office hours - I'll let you know how we go - many thanks
