Q: Any possible way to stop apple tv 4 from being activated when using apple tv 2
Hi guys;
I have been working on this same issue for too long. Mostly with harmony remote forum but with other sites as well.
I have two apple TVs in the same room, 2nd gen and 4th gen.
(when I say the same room its a media closet with all gear hooked up with IR blasters)
I have two Harmony remotes.
All I want to be able to do is have one person watching Apple TV2 with either Harmony remote, and another person to be able to watch Apple TV4 with either harmony remote.
I've tried what seems like everything but I'm still not giving up.
If I turn on the apple tv 2 the apple tv 4 turns on as it receives the IR signal. If I can make the Apple tv 4 ignore the Apple tv 2's IR channel I might have a fighting chance at this.
Apple tv 4 has a bluetooth remote so it doesn't activate Apple tv 2. Clearly when I use the Harmony remotes they are IR based and so they activate both Apple TVs as soon as you press a button.
I apologize for such a rambling question but there must be some way to have both Apple TVs completely ignore each other.
I've tried so many things I can't start to list them here for fear of getting booted from the forum haha
So I also apologize ahead of time if and when someone mentions something and I tell them 'been there, done that'
(but in a much nicer way of course)
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Even if its not a solution it may lead to someone mentioning something that starts my healing process haha
Also, I can't seem to unfair my aluminum apple tv 2 remote from my apple tv 4
Any help with that would be great too. (and may be the start of the end of my issues)
Drew
