I just purchased a pro-12.9 (not from apple, on Amazon) and was told that it is a GSM (whatever that is) version and it can not be used on Verizon's network. Verizon told me that all I need is a Verizon sim card to put it on my plan. I do not get the difference between GSM / CDMA. From what I am reading on these pages it seems that I SHOULD be able to use it on Verizon?
All current iPads are fully cross compatible with both GSM and CDMA based cellular service providers. Verizon is correct - all you need do is remove the AppleSIM in that device, get and insert a suitable Verizon SIM and set up service.
