New IPhone 6 Plus issue with all alert sounds

Not sure what is happening but my I-phone 6S plus does not allow me to control the volume for any alerts. It appears this may be because I use a blue tooth headset. Does this version only send alerts to the BT ear piece? If so this is bad design. Alerts should go to the phone and vibrated on the headset. Instead this I-phone only sends all Blue Tooth device. Therefore if your like me and don't have my ear piece in at all time you miss all notices. Tell me this is not the design but a bug that will be fixed soon. For the record I never had this problem with my Android Samsung Galaxy!

I don't believe the alerts should work that way. If you temporarily unpair the devices do the alerts then work as you would expect? This article may help:

If not, the general answers to these kinds of problems have always been and continue to be:

  1. restart,
  2. reset,
  3. restore from backup, and
  4. restore as new.

In that order. If you need help in those steps:

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups - Apple Support

If one of those don't help then I suggest calling Apple Support or make a Genius Bar appointment and take it to an Apple Store near you:

The LG Adt X collar headphones I use, did vibrate with my Andriod when my phone was sending an alert. Now that I have switch to an IPhone 6S+ the only notifications when the BT is on are sent to the BT Earpiece no vibrate no matter what setting I try. What is frustrating is that I use this BT device daily in my office to take calls so I may or may not have the ear bud in my ear at the time of a notification. Thus the frustration.

By the way although BT does take battery the IPhone 6S+ battery is very good I typically only use 50% per day with heavy use.
