MacBook Air automatic Hotspot connection?

Is there a way to have my MacBook Air connect automatically to hotspot? When my computer sleeps I have to manually turn it on and I loose my work a lot of times. I'm using an iPhone to connect to Hotspot.

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.3
