    Hello AmitBidhyarthi,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I see that your MacBook Pro is shutting down after you unplug the battery, even though the MacBook Pro is charged to 100%. That's certainly something that I wouldn't want to have happening. I'm happy to help you in finding the best resolution to this battery issue.

First, start your computer into safe mode, and test to see if you get the same shutdown issue. Starting up in “safe mode” may help you diagnose problems you’re having with your Mac. Use OS X Mavericks: Start up in safe mode, specifically, this section:

    1. Shut down your Mac and wait 10 seconds.
    2. Press the power button.
    3. Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold down the Shift key.

You should press the Shift key as soon as possible after you hear the startup tone, but not before.

    4. Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator (spinning gear).

To leave safe mode, restart your Mac normally without holding down any keys during startup.

If you experience the same issue in safe mode, create a new user on your Mac, and then test to see if you get the same shutdown result there. Creating and testing in a new user can help isolate this issue to the current user, and the entire system. Use OS X Mavericks: Set up users on your Mac, specifically, this section:

    Add a user

    1. In Users & Groups preferences, click Add (+) below the list of users.
    2. Choose the type of user you want to create from the New Account pop-up menu.

Be sure you know the different user types before you choose. For descriptions, see:

About users, administrators, groups, and guests

    3. Type a full name for the new user. An account name is generated automatically. To use a different account name, enter it now—you can’t change it later.
    4. Enter a password for the user, then enter it again to verify. Using a password hint is recommended to help the user remember his or her password.
    5. Click Create User.

    Best Regards.

    Hello Steven,

    Thank you for responding.

Unfortunately the problem remains the same after both steps you mentioned.

Plus, another problem I am experiencing is this glitch like display.

    Greetings AmitBidhyarthi,

Thank you for trying those steps. We have a couple more steps that we'd like you to try.

First, please use the following article to make sure that you have a backup of your Mac's important data with Time Machine:

Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac

Please make sure that your backup is on an external source, i.e. external hard drive.

Then, use How to reinstall OS X to start into recovery, erase your hard disk, and then perform a new install of OS X, specifically, this section:

    1. Start up from OS X Recovery by holding Command-R immediately after turning on or restarting your Mac. Release the keys when you see the Apple logo. Startup is complete when you see the OS X Utilities window.

    2. If you do want to erase your disk before reinstalling OS X, open Disk Utility from the OS X Utilities window, then use Disk Utility to erase the disk. Quit Disk Utility when done.

    3. Choose Reinstall OS X from the OS X Utilities window, then follow the onscreen instructions.
This installs the latest version of OS X that was previously installed on your Mac.

Once the installation is complete, please test, and see if you get the same shutdown issue.

    Cheers.

    Run an Apple Hardware Test:

    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201257

Note that an error free AHT is not conclusive.

    Ciao.

    Hey Sarah,

    Thanks for responding.

I am currently stuck in "internet recovery" stage.

I am in a place where the internet speed feels like an abuse. I looked around and figured that the reinstallation of osx is possible without internet. Is that correct?

El Capitan is about 6 GB?

Is it possible to download the osx in a windows computer and with the help of flash drive/memory stick bring it to my Mac and do the installation? I have a friend where I could put the osx to download and in few days I could get it.

Please tell me it is indeed possible or please tell me a way to do it without internet at home.

Thank you. And sorry for the mess. I hope you can help me. I am in a rather rural place for a research and not having my Mac for past 10 days has not be easy.
