How to sync PDFs from iPad to iTunes library without losing them?

I want to sync PDF's on my iPad - to transfer to another one. But, when I try "sync Books" I am told that all books on my iPad will be removed, and then it will sync to my library. This can't be right. How am I supposed to get PDFs from my iPad if they'll be removed before library and ipad are synced?

iPad 2, iOS 9.3.3

Hello drquantum,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand from your post that you want to sync PDFs from your iPad to another iPad but when you sync through iTunes you receive a message saying that your books will be removed and synced to your iTunes Library. That is correct. Your iPad can only be synced with one iTunes Library at a time. When you sync your iPad to iTunes on your computer, it removes what you have on your iPad with what you have in your iTunes Library.

I recommend using the steps in the following article as it tells you how to use iBooks to store your ePub, iBooks Author books, and PDF files with iCloud Drive so that you can access them on all of your devices:

Use iCloud Drive or iBooks to access your PDF files, ePub files, and books

Best Regards
