i dropped my ipod face first and the screen stopped responding to my fingers

i was playing my PS4 then suddenly my iPod fell out of my pocket(5th generation) and the screen turns on but it doesn't respond to my fingers i keep sliding to the right but it doesnt work someone please help me before i canpay money to repair it. i tried holding the home button and the and power button nothing happens it justs turns off. when i turn it back on the same problem happens. I dont even know what version it is cause i cant check i remeber it being the latest at 8.1.3
