Q: Cannot sign out of iCloud

I am using an iPhone 6s to test a app for work.  The previous user of the phone has left the company.  I created a new Apple ID, but cannot sign in because I do not know the previous user's password.

    Hello MaxTestTWo MaxTestTwo,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand from your post that you are trying to test an app for work, but the iPhone 6s that you are trying to use is asking you for the previous owner's password. In most cases, the previous owner would need to provide their password or remove the device from their iCloud account so you could then sign in with your own Apple ID.

With the iPhone 6s being a company device, you may be able to use the Mobile Device Management tool to remove the Activation Lock. The information in the following article under the section titled, "Use Apple Configurator with devices that have Find My iPhone enabled" may be helpful:

Use Mobile Device Management and Find My iPhone Activation Lock

    Best Regards
