Q: Bad new battery on iPad Air

That's my specs on iPad Air. Just got it because I cracked the glass on my previous one.

on this model the battery takes over 7 hours to fully charge, it gets very hot, and it lasts only 2-3 hours using very little.

    If this was an exchange through Apple, you should take it back the the same Apple store and explain it to them. You are supposed to get a refurb unit when you exchange due to damage and, according to the Apple refurb site, refurb iPads get a outer shell and battery before being released for shipment:
