Q: IPhoto

I have backed up my photos in two different places aside from my computer MacBook Pro 2014 and I want to empty the photos from my computer as I am very short on storage space. I tried just hitting delete on the photos and that is not working. How do I get these photos off?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012), iOS 6.1.4

To delete images from iPhoto you need to put them in the iPhoto trash, empty that and then empty the system trash.

If you're deleting all the photos it's a whole lot more simple just to drag the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder to the system trash and empty it.

Which version of iPhoto do you have?

In iPhoto 9.6.1 you can select several photos at once and then hit the delete key or ctrl-click them and then click the Trash icon to delete them.

This will move the photos to iPhoto's trash bin. Then empty the iPhoto Trash to move the photos to the Trash on your Desktop.

You can also simply delete the iPhoto Library from your Pictures folder, if you want to delete t

all photos. But make sure, that your backups are readable, before you delete all photos.
