Q: Arturia keylab 88 aux pedal and next patch action in MS concert

Hello !

I noticed that there's quite a few Keylab owners in this community .

I'm trying to setup the Aux pedal input to increment by one the patch list that I have in my concert .

I use a Proline sustain pedal and it transmits two values , 0 and 127 when pressing and releasing .

I tried to assign this pedal to go through my patch list but it moves by 2 patches instead of one .

In the Keylab docs , It says that the Aux pedal input can transmit control messages ( CC's ) or RPN or NRPN ( registered parameter number or non registered parameter number )

Is there any ways to get MainStage to move by only one patch forward although I'm sending a 0 and 127 value on a CC number ? ( I was using CC #14 in this case )

many thanks !

MainStage, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

In layout screen control inspector>hardware input, set type to single value.

    hey Lifenoise

thanks for your reply . I tried to set up the attributes in the layout mode as you described but using a sustain type pedal sending controller 14 ( for example ) in single value mode , the patches are jumping around even more .

If I go back to absolute , then the patches increments by 2 .

I also set up Midi thru : do not pass through but i don't think that would make a difference in my case .

Would you think the type of pedal is not the proper one to do this ?

I think that Roland makes those types of pedals that sends only one midi value .

    Any thoughts ?

    many thanks

    Or this Boss FS-5U non-latching footswitch ?

They also make a latching one .. not sure which one would work out

    thanks

I have several FS-5U pedals. The only difference is they have a polarity switch so they can be used with any keyboard. After you make changes in layout, are you assigning it at concert level in edit mode?

I do assign it at the concert level . Is there another specific edit I need to do in the edit mode so that the next patch function ignores the second controller value ? ( in this case it would be 0 as 127 would be the first value )

I tried the Boss FS-5U pedal and it behaves the same as my proline sustain pedal ( momentary )

    any help would be appreciated

    many thanks

I set up a quick test. In layout, I dragged the pedal icons to the screen control pane, then selected assign in the screen control inspector(it turns red) for each pedal. In edit> concert level, selected a pedal, then screen control inspector>actions> previous patch. Repeated the process for the other pedal, selecting next patch. Works perfectly. In my previous post, i used single, but it was controlled by a button on the keyboard. Press/release seems to work better in this case.

    hey Lifenoise

thanks again for the precise infos . really appreciate it

unfortunately , I have the same problem . I tied with a Proline sustain pedal and the Boss FS-5U pedal with the same results of having the patches not moving in the +1 increments that is suppose to be. Could it be the Arturia keyboard?? i am sending controller 66 like you did and had it set to a press / release type behavior in the layout window then assigned in edit mode at the concert level as a next patch action .

    guess i'm out of luck
