There is a hidden feature through Terminal to password zip files and I wanted to know what algorithm was used e.g. Blowfish?
I checked on Wikipedia and it doesn't look like the zip format is that safe, at least initially.

It isn't a hidden feature. It is just part of the standard command-line zip tool. More details might be available on the Info-Zip web site: http://www.info-zip.org/
I have since found that it used what is known as "weak" encryption, the zip option was called cloakzip.
