Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like you want to have your iPhone vibrate as part of the notifications. That vibration can be great to let you know when something has been received on the iPhone, especially when you do not want to disturb others by having it make a sound. I will be happy to try to help you out with this.
The first thing you want to check is the Vibration setting. To get to it, tap on Settings > General > Accessibility. Scroll down to Vibration and make sure it is turned on. Then you will want to go to Settings > Sounds. Under the Vibrate section, make sure that 'Vibrate on Ring' and 'Vibrate on Silent' are also on as well, then restart the iPhone and test.
If those settings are turned on, and the phone is still not vibrating, then the next step would be to reset all settings. Before you do that, it is best to be sure you have a backup. Nothing I am going to suggest should cause any data loss, but it is always a good idea to have a backup. If you follow this link, you will find instructions on how to do a backup:
How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Once you have a backup, then perform the reset all settings. Reset All Settings resets preference files that may be having issues. This step will not delete your contacts or photos or any personal information. It does remove all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy, and removes your Touch ID & Passcode.
You do this by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
Once you have done this, test the iPhone and see if the vibration is working as expected.
Cheers!
