Q: Problems transferring music to my iPod

When we transferred my iTunes music library from our Windows PC to Apple Music and then to our new MacBook Pro a message stating "Some of the items in the iTunes library, including "True to Your Heart (From Mulan)", were not copied to "(my iPod's name" because Apple Music songs cannot be copied to an iPod." (+100 others) appeared. The problem is the songs that are labeled "Apple Music" are songs that I actually OWN! They are songs I have uploaded to iTunes from CD's that I purchased not songs that I "borrowed" from Apple Music. How do I get these songs changed from "Apple Music" to "Uploaded"?

Thank you.

If you subscribe to Apple Music (and not iTunes Match), your iCloud Music Library (provided by the Apple Music service) cannot be use used to transfer music from one computer to another in the way you describe.  Well, you can, but songs you imported from CDs into your old PC's iTunes library (that "match" songs in the iTunes Store catalog) are downloaded as Apple Music song files (like songs downloaded directly from the Apple Music service).  They have DRM (copy protection) that requires an active Apple Music subscription and prevents syncing to iPods.

NOTE:  If you subscribed to iTunes Match (by itself or with Apple Music), downloads from your iCloud Music Library do not use DRM.  Songs (that "match") are downloaded as standard 256 kbps AAC files that can sync to iPods.

What you need to do is transfer your song files directly from your old PC to your Mac.

This document explains how, in detail.

To summarize the procedure, you copy your existing iTunes folder (in your old PC's user account Music folder), with your complete iTunes data (the library file and all media files), to an external drive.  Then, connect external drive to new Mac (with iTunes not running), and replacing its existing iTunes folder with the iTunes folder from the old PC.  When you run iTunes on the Mac, it uses your iTunes data from the old PC and everything is there.  It looks the same on your new Mac, because it's the same iTunes library that was on your old PC.  (Even if you subscribed to iTunes Match, this method is the best way to transfer your complete iTunes library from one computer to another.)
