Convertible laptops

I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place for this question.

I'm in desperate need of a new laptop and want to stick with Apple, but my shopping has left me a bit disappointed. It seems Apple is intent on you owning several devices for different purposes, but I'm really drawn to the convertible laptops (like the hp spectre x360). I can't afford multiple devices (as a starving artist), but I'd really like to stick with Apple. So my question is, is there any chance they'll be developing a more all-in-one type of computer or does that really go against their current philosophy? If they might have one in development I'm willing to wait, otherwise I might have to go back to *gulp* Windows.
