how to 'confirm' faces?

i am new to Photos, and trying to work out how the faces function works.

before, in iPhoto there was a function where it said "John may be in an additional 24 photos - click to confirm" and then it brought up a thumbnail view of photos with a tick and a cross so you could confirm accordingly.

where is this feature in Photos?

any tips/advice appreciated. thanks.

Click on the faces album and at the bottom there is a strip of faces you may know - if you know one double click and enter the name and it along with potentially others will be added to that person's album - select the ones you do not know or do not want to name and right click (control click) and select ignore

See LarryHN's comment above. Unfortunately, this doesn't work as simply as it did in iPhoto. It shows you a lot of images at the bottom when you are in "faces" mode -- but they are not sorted, they are not necessarily related to the face you are working on, although if there are photos it thinks are related, you can see them to review before agreeing. And you can't see the entire photo if you click on a single face.

I'm hoping that this will be addressed in the next upgrade.

the strip at the bottom of small faces is rather confusing and overwhelming!

I don't use that strip other than to delete faces of strangers. You can select a range of faces there and delete them all at once. To name faces I enable "View> Show face names" and enter names while browsing the photos enlarged. This way I can see the context of the face and know exactly when and where I met this person.

It will be easier in the new Photos to come with macOS Sierra (http://www.apple.com/macos/sierra-preview). The face detection and handling of named faces has been completely redesigned. Perhaps we will see more at the next keynote event: Apple Events - Keynote September 2016 - Apple
