Help! My podcast won't play after closing

Hi I was playing a podcast halfway and after exiting full-screen, when I wanted to open the same podcast video again a pop up appears stating that

"This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes."

I can't open the podcast anymore and the pop up keeps appearing. I have tried deleting and re-downloading the podcast episode but it still happens. What should I do?
