i just purchased an ipad pro-need to sync w/macbook pro-how can i do this?? i need to see in writing-not tutorial from youtube-please-been there. need the manual from 'dummies'

Depends on what you want to sync. If you want to sync photos, contacts, bookmarks, reminders, mail, etc., iCloud can that data for you between the iPad and MacBook. iCloud syncs via a Wi-Fi network.

It would be easier to setup on your Mac rather than the iPad.
You need to provide more information than what you have done. Syncing is automatic with iTunes unless you turned off auto syncing. You need to explain what you have done to this point and what happened when you did what you did.
Did you use the cable that is provided in the box, and connect the cable to the iPad and the other end of the cable to a USB port on your Mac? Did iTunes open when you did that? If iTunes opened, what happened next?
