Q: Before I buy...

I am thinking of making simple motion graphics like... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QViCXgkcBRM
I wasn't very fond of AE. The learning curve is too much and I don't feel like paying monthly payment for couple projects i plan to do.

So i was thinking of use motion 5 to create motion graphics.  I noticed that unlike (AE), Motion 5 does not have flat icon template like AE in videohive.net. And seem limited in its choices, I was curious to know if...

1. are there flat icon packets I can buy in motion 5, if yes, where?

2. is motion 5 enough to do what I want to accomplish

3. any good tutorial site?

everything in your linked example can be accomplished in Motion5.

    But…

    1) don't know what you mean by 'icon packages' - for sure, you can import any graphic into M5, to be precise: M5 is no 'paint.app'; what I would do, is creating graphics in any painting app, such as Pixelmator, save it in psd-format, and you have in M5 access to each layer, to animate each indiviually

    2) yes

your example is highly complex, but what I saw are some simple text-behaviors, M5 offers out of the box, and tons of animated (behaviours/keyframed) graphics...

For a beginner...? I'd say too complex... but, maybe you're better talented than me

    3) the usual suspect, rippletraining.com, offering hundreds of free tuts at YT, and offering 'boxed' courses for indepth learning, $$$

Again, your example is a symphony of dozens of perfectly timed animation... to reenact that would cost me days, and I'm no Motion beginner ....

1 - MotionVFX.com has some of what you're looking for.  But you can also create those shapes/objects inside of Motion itself.

    2 - More than enough.

3 - Start with freebies, then move on to Ripple Training or MacProVideo.com paid tutorials.  Here's some of the better freebies (mine included).

Motion is fifty bucks. Buy it. You will not be sorry. It's a great little toy box.

I have MotionVFX and it's a great add on to do 3d objects/texts in Motion...

FYI, what I refer to as being inside of Motion will be the shapes and content and such in the Library pane.
