My question here with more background below: Does anyone know of any apps that are known (or has caused for them) problems with Carplay connections?
I have iP6S with 9.3.3 installed and I've run into repeated problems with Carplay seemingly disconnecting and then re-connecting at random from both a Pioneer NEX8100 and then a Kenwood DNX893S in my 2010 Toyota Prius. Both units were installed by the same very reputable dealer and they done every troubleshooting intervention they can think of with the units including changing harnesses and wiring the HUs into the battery for constant power. We have changed the lightning cable as well. None of these interventions has changed the issue of the iP6S being connected and playing music, phone call, anything using Carplay and then the connection just dropping. Then the phone screen flashes the Carplay symbol again and the Carplay screen refreshes on the HU. It's as if the lightning cable were being unplugged for about 30 seconds and then plugged back in but the cable is in place the entire time. I have no problems connecting my IP6S to my laptop or other devices using a lightning cable and the problem existed with my previous iP6 so it seems very unlikely the problem is the lightning connector itself.
My installer is now wondering if I have an app installed that might be causing these problems. Does anyone know of any apps that are known (or has caused for them) problems with Carplay connections?
