Q: Compatibility Issues Time Warner Internet and Apple Airports

I was provided a modem (Technicolor) by Time Warner.  I could not get it to work properly with my Airport Extreme and Expresses (being used as extenders).  I reset everything, I changed the DNS servers, but the service was still intermittent.  After many calls to Time Warner and Apple, and countless hours troubleshooting on my own, I went into the Apple Store.  The guy at the Apple Store suggested I go buy a different modem and use my own.  I went into Time Warner and actually asked if they had another model that I could switch mine out for. They had an Arris and it has worked swimmingly.  I do pay $10/month for the modem, but that is because I also have phone service through them and have to pay that anyway.  For most it might be cheaper to buy your own modem.  Hope this helps others from having to go the same hours of frustration that I did!
