mailboxes

when i click on the icon between the flag and the trashcan on my iPad pro to bring up my list of mailboxes there is a message the email, which says " tap on mailbox to move this message". This is particularly bad because i just want to open one of my mailboxes without moving messages. Can anyone help please. The same thing happens on my iPhone 5c. Regards BrianK

That is exactly how it is supposed to work. That file folder icon represents the action to move messages into another mailbox. Your mailboxes are under the account heading on the left side window where it shows your inbox, trash, drafts, junk, etc.

That icon is not for bringing up the list of mailboxes, it is for moving the particular mail message that you are viewing to another folder.

To look at the list of mailboxes, when looking at just the mail message itself, you need to tap on Inbox in the upper left corner, that brings up your list of mail, then tap on Mailboxes to bring up the list of mailboxes.
