iCloud won't save my backups

HI guys, I've been having a problem for the past few days with backing up my game data to my Icloud.

I Have an Ipad 2 and I have never backred-up before three days ago, but I have noticed that even though my backups complete without a problem, no data is actually getting saved.

I have already gone into my backup options and chosen the Apps I want to save (I know its possible because my husband has the same games and they save to his iCloud with no problem) but when the backup is complete I have the same amount of storage left and none of the data from apps I selected is there.

I really want my data saved, I have spent a lot of money on these certain apps and it's very frustrating to know they aren't being saved properly. So what am I doing wrong?

My iCloud Drive is ON

I am on Wifi and connected to a powersource

iOS version 9.3.5
