Sep 1, 2016 8:12 AM in response to EVSWby sandyandmikem,In the meantime we are forced to suffer through this "disease". My family has 5 Iphones. I rely on these to keep contact with my children. What happens when they need to get in touch with us in an emergency and their phone doesn't work? What then? Meanwhile, apple remains silent. This goes far beyond a broken phone.

Sep 1, 2016 8:28 AM in response to dennysvelby JimmyCMPIT,in any event if an Apple technical finds you "twisted or bent" the phone to make it work they will point out you have voided your warranty (on warrantied/Apple Care phones) and your actions made the device ineligible for repair (on warrantied/Appel Care or past warrantied devices) by Apple.
In the event your iPhone succumbs to "touch disease" you should immediately call apple and avoid potentially destructive life hack suggestion by someone on the internet who didn't bother to read the terms of the device warranty that can cost you voiding your warranty and unknowingly or maliciously turned your iPhone into an nifty paperweight.

Sep 1, 2016 12:22 PM in response to JimmyCMPITby EVSW,That is all good and well but for a lot of iPhone 6 and Plus users the problem occurred after the first year of use, which meant its warranty was out of date. Genius Bar can't fix but only replace the phone at cost, so one has to resort to desperate measureS.

Sep 7, 2016 3:07 PM in response to dennysvelby William Kucharski,So you found an article that purports to show a common failure and you think your particular device has the same problem?
Have you bothered to do any diagnosis? If you still have coverage, have you taken it to your local Apple Store?

Sep 7, 2016 3:37 PM in response to William Kucharskiby dennysvel,Obviously it's the same problem.
Yeah I reported the problem with them and I'm waiting for their response.

Sep 7, 2016 4:24 PM in response to William Kucharskiby RBIby,Of course, Genius Bar gave me the only options of buying a replacement phone or buying an upgrade. Didn't even admit to the known chip issue "iPhone 6 touch disease" as documented by various relaible sources over the past few weeks. Wasn't till I went into a secondary support tech shop, this was a month ago, where a support rep confirmed it.
