Q: email deleted my Mail App

I was copying about 12,000+ emails from a folder in Mail (On My Mac) called "inbox temp" to an IMAP inbox. I saw that it would take too long and stopped the process. Now, all 12,000+ are gone from the "inbox temp" folder and only about 50 transferred to the IMAP inbox before I cancelled the process.

Any idea where Mail put my emails?

Rebuild mailbox

If that doesn't work, try re-indexing the mailboxes. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.

Reindex messages For El Capitan, try looking in V3.
