Q: reading mail

OSX 10.11.6

I accidentlypulled a inbox viewer screen all the way down and no longer read any individual mail content. I tried everything I know and the screen showing the messages inbox will not raise up to let me read the message body.

So how to raise the screen up?

Hover your mouse cursor just over the line at the bottom of the email message window. The cursor should change into a cross with horizontal arrows. Drag that cross up or down as needed.

    Hi,

Could you say what you have tried ?

It will save use replying with things you have already tried.

Have you tried switching to Classic Mode if you don't use and back again (or the reverse if you do) ?

    Mail > Preferences > Viewing.

A cross with arrows??? I did see a inverted T and it for have one arrow, which did not work. I tried the inverted T with shift key, T with control key, T with option key, T withCommand key. I tried repairing permissions. I tried doing a restart.  I really was irritated and don't remember anything else but there may have been some cursing and a voodoo chat or two. LOL

Finally I pulled the entire window up at the corner and when I pulled it down at the center it was split 50/50 with inbox and viewing split window. I just tried repeating the trick and it wasn't easy to duplicate. I thought I was stuck with a window with inbox only. After playing with the corner up and then the center down I was able to see a normal screen again. This was never this difficult to do before and I hope they fix this software glitch.

    Hi,

    Mail_Classic_view.png

I am guessing you cannot see this as a division and you may have had a different icon for that - I tried dragging the Cursor I see to the bottom and got stuck with no content section.

It seems I am now stuck myself.

    EDIT.

I had to keep dragging upwards until the lower pane showed.
