Q: my iphone 6 plus just stopped working and no fix yet

Today my iphone 6 plus just stopped working today.  I have tried every posted fix to solve this and nothing.  Held the home and sleep/wake buttons for 10 seconds, then the sleep /wake button for 3 seconds before also holding the home button- plugged it into computer and tried to restore via itunes - all to no avail.  It literally just shut off with 42% charge left on it.  What would you recommend?  My phone is important to my work. Just get a new one?

Try Recovery Mode:

Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes.

While your device is connected, force restart it: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button for at least 10 seconds, and don't release when you see the Apple logo.

Keep holding until you see the recovery mode screen and wait for it to restore.

You may have to do the above more than once as recovery mode is difficult to get into.

Restore as New first and test it. Then restore from backup if desired. If the backup is corrupted it will likely bring back the issue.

If the above steps do not help, you may have to take it to an Apple store for testing.

    When I connect it to my computer I get a warning from my computer that the usb device has malfunctioned and is not recognized by windows.  t

    Sorry to hear. If your tried Recovery Mode (as new) to no avail, a hardware issue is likely the cause. I would take it to an Apple store and let them test it. The test is free; repair/exchange would depend on your warranty status.
