Q: Wifi: No Hardware Installed
Hello,
I own a mid 2012 Macbook Pro 15" that currently runs OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. I have always used my computer and never had issues with the wifi before until today. I woke my computer up from sleep mode and it said the wifi was off and refused to let me turn it on. So i restarted the computer and then it gave me the following message: "Wifi: No Hardware Installed." So after doing some research, it was recommended to disconnect the battery for 5 seconds, reconnect, and restart. This resulted in the wifi turning on. When i opened the safari browser, the wifi then began to turn off, on, off, on,... continuously. I then restarted and the wifi stayed on and worked. After shutting down the computer and turning on again 10 minutes later, the same message: "Wifi: No Hardware Installed" popped up.
I have no clue what could cause such an issue, and i would like some advice on how to resolve it.
Thanks,
Fellow Mac User

- If you do not have a backup use disk utility to restore the internal disk to an external disk so you can try to recover data.
Then format the startup disk and do a fresh install of OSX
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. Could be that the wifi card has to just be reseated in its connector
