Mac not communicating with Lexmark X-4650 printer

I have a new IMac and my Lexmark X-4650 printer was working perfectly before, and will now print a test page and shows it on my IMac and also shows ink levels. But anytime I try to print a document or anything other than a test page, I get a message problem communicating with printer. I have it connected with the USB cable.
