Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I know having an issue connecting to Wi-Fi on your iPhone is not what you expect. If I understand correctly, you are unable to connect to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, but the 5GHz channel works fine. I suggest testing this on a different Wi-Fi network to see if the issue is resolved. You should also check out the recommended settings to prevent interference in these articles:

I tried on many Routers (home, work, friends... ) and I only get the iPhone properly connected when it's a 5Ghz wifi.
I tried also different channels, I restored the iPhone many times (with and without backup), the iPhone is updated to latest version 9.3.5.
It's quite annoying because the 90% of wifi networks are 2.4Ghz...
Is there a way to check if it's a hardware or software problem? and if it has solution?
Thanks in advance
