Q: iMac does not wake up

I always have my iMac 27" late 2015 on.

During the day when it sleeps it wakes up as expected moving the mouse or pressing any key.

Since two days ago, after night, I have to power off and then on to restart the system.

The display does not 'wake up'. If I press a key like Return several times I hear the known sound when you make a mistake. It seems to me that the system wakes up but the display does not.

During the night some CCC backup tasks are automatically performed.

Energy Saver: Turn display off after 15 min; checked: Wake up for network access, Start up automatically after a power failure.

What do you suggest to research?

Thank you

iMac with Retina 5K display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

tygb, I already had performed those reset steps. I always have WiFi off.
Restore Defaults: I don't want to put hard disks to sleep when possible and I want to startup after a power failure
