is it worth to upgrade iMac 2008 to 6 GB memory?

iMac (24 inch early 2008) Processor 3.06 GHz with 4 GB 800 Mz DDR2 SDRAM

Received response from the Apple to remove color wheel upgrade memory to 6 GB

OBS,iMac (24-inch Early 2008), iOS 10.11.6

Before you go out and purchase additional memory download and run Etrecheck. Copy and paste the results into your reply. Etrecheck is a diagnostic tool that was developed by one of the most respected users here (and recommended by Apple Support personnel) in the ASC to provide a snapshot of the system and help identify the more obvious culprits that can adversely affect a Mac's performance.

A year ago I would have said yes. My 2011 iMac hit a ram bottleneck with 4GB under Yosemite and now uses ~5.5GB on an average day under El Capitan.


But today? No. Your iMac's days are limited anyway since the upcoming macOS Sierra doesn't support it; thus money spent upgrading could probably be better used saving for a new/newer machine.
