Q: Can't use Apple TV without Remote
So i have this Apple TV (2nd or 3rd Generation ) I brought out of inventory and need to deploy it to a TV. Problem is I only have one remote that is not paired with that TV. I need to pair this remote but I am unable to get to settings on the apple tv without a remote. I tried using the app, but since the apple tv is either 2nd or 3rd generation the code to pair the app has to be entered on the Apple TV :/. Any fix so I can pair this remote to the TV? When I press the buttons on the remote there is connectivity between the Apple TV and remote but i cant use the remote still.

There are two ways to pair your Apple Remote with your Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation). You can go to Settings > General > Remotes and choose Pair Apple Remote, or press and hold the Menu and Right buttons for five seconds.
After you successfully pair your devices, you should see
above an icon of a remote on your Apple TV.
Pair or unpair your Apple Remote with your Apple TV (3rd generation or earlier) - Apple Support
New batteries in the remote may help also.
