Q: Finder not working in standard account

I hope this community can offer some assistance as I haven't had much luck with Google so far.

So basically I created another standard account which does not have admin control on my MacBook Pro with the intention of using this for everyday use. However when I log into the standard account Finder just will not work.

I have tried removing the apple finder plist and rebooting to no avail.

Can anyone offer some ideas on how I can resolve this issue?

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

What exactly happens when you try to use Finder?

Nothing basically. When I click on the Finder icon in dock it fails to open. If I try and use one of the tabs at the top of the screen and click on Go to a folder it just closes.

How about if you create yet another user. Does that work?

That would tend to indicate something is causing a problem system-wide.

Please boot into Safe Mode and see if you still have the problems in the standard accounts:

Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up - Apple Support

Safe mode is clunky, slow, and some things do not work. You just need to log in and verify that the Finder does work or not.

Ok finally managed to boot into Safe mode and the problem persists there too.

So where does this leave me?

None of that worked so I'm assuming I'm left with only one option, to do a full wipe and fresh installation of the OS which quite frankly I can't bring myself to do given how long it would take me to reinstall everything from scratch. I'm assuming if I restored from time machine I would simply reintroduce whatever issue I currently have so it's either make do with using just this admin account that is working fine or tear it all down and start over.

Try running this program while in the standard account and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor.  Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.

You have a metric ***-ton of crap installed.

I would start by uninstalling CleanBrickMyMac.

    Then Cocktail.

Then, try Vallum…and all the other "security"/firewall stuff.

Then Paragon… ← this one is the least of my worries, but since it intercepts mounting of disks, it may be interfering with Finder.

I'm surprised it even boots with all of that crap.

Is there any piece of software you've passed up installing?
